The worst part is he is taking PA away from our top hitting prospect(Gamel) who sits the bench and wastes service time.

Well he also smoked the ball in spring training, which is why he made the team in the first place. Still, he has been a nice surprise for the Brewers this year especially since he wasn't doing much before he became a starter after Weeks went down. As a Brewers fan, I'm not expecting him to keep this up, I'm just hoping he can keep hitting like this until Hart or Hardy can start hitting again.

McGehee isn't likely to continue at this pace, though his rise isn't without precedent. Check out Mark DeRosa's minor league numbers and he's eerily similar to McGehee.

Both:
-Spent three seasons at Triple-A.
-Never had an OPS over .776 in the minors
-Was a rookie at the age of 26.
-Broke into the majors by being a super utility type.
-Needed a change to a different team before breaking out.

There's really only a very slim chance that McGehee turns into DeRosa 2.0, but the similarities to his point are still fun to look at.

You took the words right out of my brain. I said this exact same thing when contemplating picking him up for my fantasy team. I left him on the waiver wire, then he promptly went out and smoked a ball onto Waveland. I think on some level the opportunity given to McGehee is indicative of the difference between the Brewers' mode of operation versus the Cubs'. How is there room in Miller Park for a guy who's never had an OPS over .800, yet Jake Fox lingers either on the bench or in AAA? Even with the Brew Crew having more flexibility with their roster than the Cubs (due to injury), I still feel that Fox should have a spot in the lineup until he proves otherwise. Ryan Braun couldn't catch a cold back in 07, but they found somewhere for him to ply his trade. If the Cubs want back on top, they need to do the same for Fox.
