He's all of 19. Hopefully his defense catches up to his bat. Otherwise, his status as a prospect dims considerably.

I agree. I think you'd see Francisco and Mayberry ahead of Brown this year, especially since they see both Francisco and Werth as competent CFers. Recent history has shown that they don't like putting too much faith in young guys, starting arb clocks early or perhaps both.

Donald was never more than a utility guy...he couldn't stick at SS as a regular. He doesnt have the range.

He might make a decent 2B or "versatile" utility guy as he can somewhat competently play 3B, SS, and 2B and has a decent bat.

Marc is optimistic with arrival time of a lot of prospects from all of the organizations covered. Does anyone else see Brown showing up this season? He'd have to be red hot and Ibanez or Werth would have to suffer a season ending injury for him to come up. I love the prospect reports, but to say any top 10 prospect who made AA last year and is 22yrs old now will be making his MLB debut this year is misleading. A few quick examples are Logan Morrison, Freddie Freeman, Josh Bell, Brandon Erbe, Arrieta, Brandon Snyder, Jesus Montero and the list goes on. I don't see any of these guys getting major league action this year. unlikely even Sept call-ups. But I like optimism.

I agree with this point. Although he wouldn't be a star, I think losing Jason Donald could really hamper Philly's future plans. With an aging (and seeming declining) Jimmy Rollins' contract up after next year, they'll be forced to explore some type of extension. Being only 2 years removed from an MVP season and still playing solid defense, he could be in line for a raise over the $8.5 Mil he'll make the next two years.

At least having a guy like Donald would create some leverage for the team that presumably does not want to part ways with a face of the franchise. Without an alternative option waiting in the wings, Rollins is in a prime position to ask for significant money, something an already high payroll may not be able to afford.

Well, Myers was just a pure POS...there's no indications that Aumont is at that level of stupid.

I don't know much about Canadien pitchers but the current training methodologies of the baseball in general often fly in the face of modern sports training and exercise physiology to the extent that most young ball players are already damaged goods. This evidenced by so many prospects suffering chronic overuse injuries and/or struggling to overcome sport specific plateauing (inability to make gains because the neuromuscular pathways associated with that sport have been overstimulated by the neuromuscular complexity of a sport specific movement. This can be done by overtraining, or improper sequencing i.e. not moving from general development of athletic attributes to sport specific ones or training by playing the sport.
That being said Aumont is still 1 of the 3 magic beans the Phillies got for Lee. Still would want the one in a lifetime chance to have a rotation like Halladay, Lee, Hamels for 1 year....
