That is the proper weblog for anybody who needs to seek out out about this topic. You understand a lot its nearly onerous to argue with you (not that I actually would want…HaHa). You undoubtedly put a new spin on a topic thats been written about for years. Great stuff, just nice!

And not to sound like an "a**hole know it all" but why would the Marlins trade a 30hr/28 year old/2b 3 all-star caliber years in the majors for a guy in Shoppach who has one decent year under his belt? The Indians would have to throw in a top notch A1 prospect to compensate. You guys have to keep in mind. Shoppach can be a bust next year. And do you really think the Orioles would trade Markakis for Shoppach? C'mon....stop puffing the ganja dude.

Why in the world would the Indians trade Shoppach or Martinez? Shoppach is just coming into his own but he's not a proven commidity. Martinez, despite the injury plagued year he just had, is still a .300 avg, switch hitting catcher w/ power. The Indians can always stick him at 1b. The smart thing to do is to hold on to him. They have too many questions:
a) Is Martinez going to be able to bounce back? If not then Shoppach is a good person to have around.
b) Is Shoppach the real deal? If not then you can always have Martinez return to catch.
c) Is Hafner ready to come back and be productive?
d) Is Garko capable of putting together another strong year wire to wire at 1b?

It's not like they have 3 or more options at C. They should look to keep Martinez and Shoppach. Have Martinez spend time at C, 1B and DH.

And as for the Yankees need for catching? The Yankees don't need another C. Assuming Posada is healthy, the Yankees have Posada and Martinez to choose from and a good back up in Molina.

I would have to throw my hat to the side of the Shoppach for Uggla trade, as the Indians desperately need a power bat to replace the huge question mark Hafner. Never been the same since getting beaned in the head... Then yeah, stick Uggla @third, swap Peralta and Cabrera, who seems to be working through his struggles, and that gives us a good fielding shortstop again. And I completely agree, drop Sowers in the lake.

I can't believe they thought the post about a potential re-trade of "Shoppach for Crisp" was real(!!!!)

Maybe they can trade Shopp to the ChiSox for Thome and put him back at 3B too.

While I'd love to have Matt Gamel in the Tribe system, there's not a single scout (or anyone else who has watched him play) who believes he will stick at 3B.
