Except that we know the Rays can’t afford to think that way, in that they can’t afford to pay the free-agent market rate for “wins” to very many players. That is why this “worth” stuff has to always be taken with a grain of salt.

And don’t forget that Shoppach likes to use the HBP as an offensive weapon. He led the league with 18 HBPs in just 327 PAs.
