A good draft (or just lucky) can really turn a farm system around. If you get two in a row, you will be in the top 15. The Jays had a real nice 2007 draft (2 players made BP’s top 100) that has made up for 2005.

Thanks for this. Nothing new to me as a Cards fan, but it’s always fun to be reminded what Luhnow and company have done to turn around this team’s farm system in a matter of just a couple years.

Still mad about passing over Porcello for Johnny Unspectacular, Pete Kozma. But whatever.

Niko Vasquez has an inconsistent swing, defensive questions, and struck out in a quarter of his ABs in rookie ball (Then was overmatched in A ball). He might have good power potential, but he’s not going to realize it until he stops getting ahead of his swing. Definitely the most overhyped Cardinals prospect of recent memory.
