Dispute him being a dissapointment as a Cardinal overall, Mulder's 10 inning shutout over Clemens (9 inning shutout) is one of my favorite baseball memories.

mrp: Yeah, we have Mussina's start listed at .772. At some point, you're just looking at changes in the run environment.

July 2nd 1963, Giants beat Braves 1-0:

Juan Marichal: 16.0 IP, 8 H, 4 BB, 10 K, 0 R
Warren Spahn: 15.1 IP, 9 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 2 K, HR (Willie Mays)

Marichal had a 1.47 WPA, Spahn 0.97.

There has to be some sort of record in there.

Along the lines of what Steve said, I am very surprised not to see Mike Mussina's near-perfecto on this list. (The one Carl Everett broke up; I guess Mussina had a few close calls.)

He and David Cone took a scoreless game into the 9th before the Yankees got a run, and then of course Mussina took four batters to get three outs.

(I wasn't sure if WPA was on B-R.com, but it is. It's listed at .80.)

Should add the WPA of the opposing starting pitcher. I get the feeling that these are all 1-0 games in which the winning pitcher went the distance. In halladay's game the tiger's pitcher had a WPA of .7+, which on any other day is absolutely fantastic.

An insanely high WPA = pitchers duel
