The 2006 Cy Young Award comes to mind whenever I think of Harang. He tied for the lead league in wins, led the league in strikeouts, and had a very respectable 3.76 ERA given that he pitches in a hitter's haven.... and he didn't get a single vote for the award... how preposterous is that?

Not one vote. Not even a third place vote on a ballot.

Harang is a good pitcher who seems to be getting better with age. He's a far cry from the underperformer that the Oakland As traded away in 2003. For today's Harang, I'd offer a premium offensive player; maybe a Jason Bay.

Yeah, wow, well it fits my general rule of thumb: If John Lannan gets more run support than you, you probably need to have a pep talk with the offense.

Yep, Harang officially has the lowest run support in the majors of any qualified pitcher. RS/9 is always kind of fun to look at. It's on the <a href="http://www.fangraphs.com/leaders.aspx?pos=all&stats=pit&lg=all&qual=y&type=2&season=2008" rel="nofollow">Leaderboards</a>.
