Jeff made Lookout Landing a thing, but he does not still write there about the Mariners. He does write here, sometimes about the Mariners, but usually not.

Would love a follow-up about “command” vs “control” for pitchers. I’ve seen a distinction made on this blog a couple times, and I’ve always felt like an idiot for not knowing the difference.

I feel like I’ve seen ‘command’ referred to in regard to the actual movement on a pitch and ‘control’ would be a location issue.

I’ve seen them defined as control = ability to throw strikes; command = ability to locate pitches within the zone. Its really just nonsense scouts speak.

Did someone really suggest “gaining” James Loney and Yunel Escobar while losing James Shields and BJ Upton makes the Rays better? To be fair he’s banking on a full season of health from Longoria, but still…

To be fair, I think he was only talking position players, and if Myers plays early in the season and can hit… Yunel is a really underrated defender/player… Nope! Still can’t convince myself!

“Most fans are stupid”? Aren’t we all fans? Is Sullivan just a writer or a fan too? Biting the hand comes to mind. And “this is probably a fantasy question”? I’m sure most of your readers are here because of fantasy baseball. Weather you like it or not, you guys are running a fantasy baseball site and are asked fantasy baseball questions routinely. And “demand”! My guess is demand for Borj/Trum/Mor hasn’t changed. There may be new teams interested, but that’s because supply has gone up. And the new teams on the market would probably just be interested in getting an over supply discount.
