Will Josh Rutledge continue to hit at the big leagues?
Fail.
A valid question despite the poor timing though.
I’m confused, Mike.
You *like* that Houston is acquiring guys whose freakin’ upsides are “bench” and “bullpen” and “up-and-down-guys”…because, well, ya know, teams need them, too?
That’s bass-akwards, sir. The Pence-Singleton deal is the kind of deal you make, when you tradeoff talent. The bench, bullpen, and “up-and-down-guys” are the ones you develop or grab off the waiver wire — if you’re a GM worth his NaCl.
You trade an MLB talent, you MUST get at least a potential #4 starter or 2-WAR regular. Anything less is self-defeating. “Up-and-down-guys” my Aunt Fannie.
So tell me: Why are you & Breen sucking up so hard to Astro management, anyway?
You do realise that not everyone that gets traded is good enough to bring in the same sort of package as Hunter Pence?
Mike, a prospects+fantasy question: How much (if any) does Hamilton’s super-elite speed bump up his value in keeper leagues relative to where he’s been placed on most ‘top prospect’ lists? Does his potential to completely dominate a category elevate him into a class with the likes of Myers, et al?
