Chicago Americans (2) at Detroit (2) | 19:05 ET
• After the AL West, the AL Central is actually the closest real playoff race, with 5.5 games separating division-leading Detroit and Chicago.
• Here’s another thing that separates Detroit and Chicago: socioeconomic indicators.
• Which, that’s a joke.
• But also, it’s not a joke.
• Just like all jokes, really.

Is Brad Hand a zero, or does he just want you to think he is?

Carson does it just to torture me. He admitted it a couple weeks ago.

I think this time he may be on the mark because the worse the White Sox are getting beat the less Hawk says. Hopefully we can learn something if he shuts up and let’s Steve Stone talk about Verlander.

Stone had one of his weekly radio spots today. A caller asked “Is there anything that can be done to stop Hawk from calling you ‘Stone Pony?'”

Stone’s answer: “Well, Hawk turns 70 on Sunday and maybe as a birthday present, he’ll stop.”
