Scouting Report 2012 – By the Fans, For the Fans
Last callout!
The results of this project have appeared on the pages of Fangraphs for the past few years. Please take a few minutes to follow the instructions and fill out the ballot of your favorite team.

This is the tenth annual ballot, and its success is entirely dependent on your participation!
Hey Tom,
Thank you so much for getting this together every year. Just wanted to express my appreciation for your doing this year in and year out.
Thank you for that. At this point, it’s very little effort on my part to set this up.
It’s really 90% on the interested fan to continue to participate and spread the word. The success of the project is proportional to its interest. So, as long as you guys can keep it alive, then it’ll thrive.
I know it’s supposed to be done without position in mind, however, I’m shocked to see A.J. Ellis do so poorly, thus far, in the FANS scouting report.
He’s been average or below-average for the last three years.
The only thing I can say is that catcher is the hardest thing to evaluate within the confines of the balloting I have.
Yeah, I tried to remove him from his catching but grading his foot speed and first step abilities were hard.
However, when you say average or below-average do you mean for this FANS scouting or by metrics?
FANS. If you aren’t aware, Fangraphs shows the results on their player pages, at least since 2010:

I like how the Tigers are set up. Prince Fielder is the first name listed.
It then says – “From Ball in Flight To Fielder Reaching Ball”
and then – “Throwing To Other Fielders”
Well, apparently Prince doesn’t even talk to Cecil, so his numbers for “throwing to other Fielders” won’t be very good.
Still looking for a few more good voters.
Eduardo Nunez rates out with a perfect zero on throwing accuracy.
