Profile: Bailey opened 2016 with the Phillies, but they released him mid-way through the season. A week later, the Angels signed him to a minor league deal, where he filled in as the team’s closer at season’s end, saving six games. While he experienced a bit of a career renaissance, topping 40 major league innings for the first time since 2011, Bailey wasn’t particularly effective. His FIP and xFIP were both ~10% above league average, and while his stint with the Angels was better (3.68 FIP), he only struck out 17.7% of batters. For 2017, Bailey will compete for saves in the Angels bullpen with Huston Street and Cameron Bedrosian. While Neither is a picture of health, Bailey appears to be third in line behind both of these options. However, if you find yourself speculating for saves in 2017 drafts, you could do much worse, as the Angels appear to be one of the few teams with a open competition for closer. (Joe Douglas)

The Quick Opinion: Bailey is involved in one of the few open closer competitions going in to 2017. He would not be the most talented closer in the league but could work himself into some saves if things break right.
