RotoWire News: Bourjos, a non-roster invitee to White Sox training camp, could be the team's starting center fielder after it was announced that Charlie Tilson (foot) will open the season on the disabled list, JJ Stankevitz of CSN Chicago reports. The 29-year-old outfielder has 10 hits in 27 spring at-bats. (3/14/2017)

Profile: Once upon a time, a certain website published way too many words about Bourjos. He was a shining beacon of the future - a passable hitter with elite defensive skills. Injuries and changes to the industry pushed Bourjos into relative obscurity. The Phillies tried to see if that cat would bounce in 2016. Alas, Bourjos appears destined to be a seventh outfielder for the remainder of his career. While Bourjos didn't exactly pan out, he did actually serve as the promised beacon. Look around the league. Kevin Kiermaier, Kevin Pillar, and Ender Inciarte have followed in his footsteps. Theirs was a path blazed by the corpse of Bourjos. (Brad Johnson)

The Quick Opinion: Once the poster child for the defensively elite, now Bourjos is just a replacement guy too far removed from excellence to be exciting -- especially in fantasy.
