Profile: In 2016 Mike Napoli had a large spike in fly ball quality, resulting from a 3 mph increase in exit velocity, which served to increase both batting average and slugging on his fly balls. This manifested in the most valuable way possible - 16 more home runs. However, between his now 30% strike out rate and slow foot speed, his batting average will be decidedly below average. Napoli is entering his age 35 season as DH for the Rangers, where he should get a large number of plate appearances in a pretty strong line up. That said, Napoli will likely see his home run figures regress back to the 25 home runs per 600 plate appearances rate we've seen out of him for the majority of his career. (Andrew Perpetua)

The Quick Opinion: Napoli needs to maintain his power numbers and accrue a lot of plate appearances in order to justify his fantasy value. A drop in either category could drop his home run total to 20 or fewer.
