Profile: Chris Gimenez is practically the perfect example of a replacement-level player. He has been in an MLB organization since 2006, and while Cleveland (and their minor-league affiliates) has been his primary home, Texas, Tampa Bay and Seattle have all hosted Gimenez as well. For Cleveland in particular, every time a replacement catcher is needed, Chris is there, ready to play a few games, be serviceable, and not cause any disasters. Over 289 games and 776 plate appearances, he has accrued exactly 0.2 Wins Above Replacement. The thing is, while replacement-level players have a real role to play in MLB — injury fill in, roster fodder, veteran presence, etc. —they have no role to play in fantasy.(Chad Young)

The Quick Opinion: If anyone ever asks you to explain what it means to be "replacement level," particularly at catcher, point them in the direction of Gimenez. If anyone ever asks you how they should use Gimenez in fantasy, tell them that they should not.
