Profile: After two solid years in the Astros bullpen, the wheels came completely off for Tony Sipp in 2016. Sipp's two major pitches, his splitter and slider, both proved totally ineffective, resulting in the lowest strikeout rate of Sipp's career and an almost-impressively-high 6.19 FIP. Sipp maintained his velocity and his swinging strike rate from 2015, and he let a flukish 19% of his fly balls go for home runs, so even at the age of 33 Sipp could see some sort of bounceback in 2017. With the Astros short on left-handed relievers, Sipp should retain his bullpen role with Houston this year, but the fantasy value here seems minimal and expecting anything more than mediocre rate stats and a handful of holds is probably unwise. The Quick Opinion: Sipp will probably be given some slack to bounce back from a poor 2016, but his fantasy upside remains fairly limited.
