Profile: Wade Miley was bad in Seattle and got worse results from an ERA perspective in Baltimore, but did add some strikeouts after his trade midway through last season. As of January, Miley projects as a starter in the back of the Oriole rotation. They could add another starter, but with Miley under contract he is a pretty good bet to be in the rotation to start the year. Steamer projects Miley as a decent back end type, but with him now making half his starts in Camden Yards and a bunch more in the gauntlet of AL East parks, he is a big risk to add on draft day. Miley is likely a better gamble for deep leagues or in AL only formats. The up in strikeouts could make him a decent gamble in those types of leagues, as he utilized his slider much more in Baltimore than he had in Seattle. If he is able to continue throwing his slider that frequently and that effectively, he could find himself on the map of standard league waiver wire additions next season. (Ben Duronio)

The Quick Opinion: Miley struggled in Seattle and will now pitch in a much less friendly home ballpark. He has a tad of upside in his new digs, as he increased his slider usage and saw a big uptick in strikeouts. Leave him for AL only formats to start the year, but keep an eye on his slider usage to see if he is worth an add in the early part of 2017.
