Profile: What happens when you walk too many guys with a fly ball rate approaching 40%? See Blazek's 2016. After a productive though unremarkable 2015, Blazek struggled with command and the long ball in 2016. A .349 batting average on balls in play may have exacerbated some of his problems, but even if we regress it to league average, there are still too many baserunners and fly balls here, and that's manifested in his FIP, xFIP, and DRA. Blazek doesn't strike out enough batters to be worthy as a middle reliever, and he's too buried on the Milwaukee depth chart to reasonably expect any saves. (Rylan Edwards)

The Quick Opinion: Even with a nice pitch mix for a reliever, there's no upside here. Blazek needs to prove 2016's spike in walks was just aberrative and that the strong ground ball rates he exhibited in 2015 were for real. There's no reason he should occupy a spot on your roster while he attempts to do so.
