  1. Meche’s fate was decided ages ago: Bullpen. No rotation.

  3. yea i agree, i think alcides escobar could put together a nifty lil season. Not a starting SS, obviously, but certainly worth taking a flyer on in a deep league with a MI spot?

  4. I’d rather take a flier on Moustakas.

  5. While I think Moustakas will put up solid power numbers, I doubt he’ll produce a breakout *fantasy season* this year.

On the other hand, I’d probably take a flier on Gordon. So what if he’s completely bombed at the major league level? If we’re talking about late-round fliers, I’ll take the guy who has put up a 1.000 OPS in his minor league career. I’ll take the guy who was the best prospect in baseball not too long ago.

He’s almost certainly better than he’s shown so far, and his upside makes him interesting, at the very least.

But he *is* a gamble. If he has 3b eligibility, as will in some leagues, he’s probably a decent gamble.

  6. Good stuff. You should continue the series with “Is Anyone* on the Red Sox worth drafting?”

*anyone not named Bard, Beckett, Buchholz, Lackey, Lester, Papelbon, Gonzalez, Pedroia, Scutaro, Youkilis, Crawford, Ellsbury, Drew, Ortiz, and maybe Cameron, Lowrie, Varitek, Salty, Jenks, Wakefield, and Dice-K, obviously.

  7. You hit the pitchers dead on except

One aspect that could help Meche he should be both SP/RP qualified and can fill in as a SP. He did fine as a RP last year and if he continues, he could be a nice pickup.

Tejeda should be picked up in all deeper and AL leagues. With the chances of getting saves if Soria is moved, he is great LIMA pickup at the beginning of the season. He lost some value from 2009 as he is now only RP qualified.

  8. meche is now retired, so obviousley not draftable. However, they added jeff francis, so i think he might be a late round gamble like hochever

  9. Kila – starting 1B for the first time ever…huge sleeper 30/100 potential with high on base.
