  1. I like niese too, but looking at his babips they seem to be well above .300 at virtually every level. Maybe he’s one of these guys who gives up more hits for some reason?

  2. i just need him to be an average pitcher next year in order to complete my fantasy roster.

  3. I also noticed that, but defense at the minor league level is much worse, so I tend to not put too much weight on BABIPs there. However, it is certainly possible he is one of those exceptions and will always post worse than league average marks. We don’t have enough of a sample size though to really know for sure. He should come cheap enough next year to take the chance though.

  4. Its also worth mentioning the Mets defense has been pretty well below average the last few years, and in Niese’s full Triple-A season I remember the Bison’s roster being historically atrocious….

  6. Any thoughts on how the new fences at Citi are going to impact Niese? Obvioulsy they are not going to help, but how much damage will they do?

  7. Can never be sure exactly how it will impact every player, but Niese being a ground ball pitcher will mean that it won’t hurt him as much as a more fly ball prone pitcher.
