Even if Furcal has a few DL stints, I think he’ll end up playing around 110 games. No doubt he puts up 2.5-3.5 WAR, which would make the deal pretty fair. It is a risk, but this also gives the Cardinals a chance to upgrade at two spots since they can split time between Daniel Descalso and Tyler Greene at second base, which would produce far more than Skip Schumaker. Tyler Greene will also have the opportunity to get plenty of at bats when Furcal misses time, so this might be a breakout year for a former first round pick.
