  1. Tighten those sentences, ace. A lot of them running all over the place.

  2. I’m still quite pleased that I spelled Sveum and Scioscia correctly at first pass…

  3. Yesterday I saw Trumbo hitting batting practice balls halfway up the third deck in left at Target Field. Dude has power. Just raise that FB%

  4. he certainly has power. But it’s really hard to hit home runs from the dugout. He needs a good steady week of no errors over at third to calm the nerves of his manager (and himself).

  8. Trumbo didn’t play on Monday night because CJ Wilson was pitching and ground balls were the norm of the evening.

It was a conscious decision by Mike Scioscia to take out the less experienced Trumbo and replace him with the better defensive option in Callaspo for that night.

The Trumbo experiment will continue and, despite the two errors, should be successful as he HAS made some great diving catches as well. We always ignore the positives and focus on the negatives in such a small sample size.

  9. Is Donaldson worth owning in a 23 man roster, 2 catcher, 12 team league? he is catcher eligible, do you think the stats are worth it, or should i go pick up Chris Iannetta, or Ramon Hernandez, or Rosario at catcher?

  10. I just dont’ see Trumbo getting enough at bats to make him worthwhile. Callaspo (or maybe Izturis) is going to get the call when Wilson or Williams are pitching, and if Saturday is any indication, when Haren is pitching as well. That’s only 2/5 of the starts. He should also get some starts at 1B when Sciosia decides to put Pujols at DH for a day a rest.

  11. Well if he’s 2/5 of the 3B rotation (and that seems like a pessimistic scenario) and picks up ABs playing 1B, OF, DH and pinch hitting, you are still looking at 400ABs. That should make him a starter in most 12 team mixed leagues
