  1. How about Lahair, I think he qualifies as OF in Yahoo and other leagues? I figure he’s the ultimate platoon split guy.

  2. At 73% owned, I figured he was a bit too owned to mention, but yeah, he belongs in the Soriano/Duda paragraph for sure.

  3. Will Venable is perfectly usable outside of PETCO. A park platoon, if you will.

  4. Very helpful article, as I play in a league with deep benches and like to actively manage platoon splits. Will Venable should be mentioned here, as he’s often on my rosters for this reason.

vs. Right this season: .295/.877 with 4 HR and 7 SB in 139 AB. Especially useful away from PetCo, with a .357/1.058 4 HR, 3 SB statline in 84 AB. These lines are generally consistent with his career lines in those splits, albeit to a more extreme degree. A definite plug n play option, especially on the road against righties (or against righties in general) for good across-the-board production.

  5. Wow, he was practically the inspiration for this article. Can’t believe I forgot to put him in. He’s almost at the Soriano/Duda level he’s so good away from home and against righties.

  6. LaHair got dropped in my league last week and I picked him up for his RHP abs. Its not the best use of roster space, but his numbers are too good not to run out there.

  7. If Cashman was smart he would pry Venable loose from the Pads, Venable would be an ideal defensive replacement for Gardner/possible replacement for Swisher in 2013. He is cheap and has obliterated RHP and is evil good away from Petco(.454 road wOBA in 2012) he would destroy that short porch in RF

  8. Unfortunately Fowler is probably also on the home/road split discrepancy top 5 list.

  9. true but that .400 Home BABIP for Fowler is more in line with his career number than his Road .250BABIP is
