  1. The lat injury was on 7/6/10, not last year. It’s the reason he only threw about 100 innings in 2010 and 2011. It is important since it may mean he is better recovered since the injury was 2 1/2 years ago.

The only thing surprising this year has been his health. He averages abut 0.18 WAR/9 IP and he is only a little ahead of that this year. The big difference in his WAR total is his health. You address that some in the article. However, the White Sox have not been as lucky with pitcher health this year. Danks, Floyd (twice), Humber, Bruney, Septimo and Crain (also twice) have all spent time on the DL. Is this an aberration or a sign that Ventura is doing something different than Guillen to put the pitchers at risk somehow? I don’t think there is any way to know but it bears watching to see if you can still count on every White Sox starter to make 32 starts and throw 180 innings every year.

  2. I’d like to keep Peavy but am not sure I can. I am keeping David Price, Cliff Lee & Adam Wainwright. Would anyone keep Peavy over Wainwirght or Lee?
