  4. I have a hard time accepting Cwik’s assertion that Lowrie is now an aging player who can’t stay healthy.

    Especially considering how he went down in 2012, you have to chalk that up to bad luck, right? I mean, we don’t see anyone calling Buster Posey injury prone after that horrific home plate collision. It’s the same with Lowrie (last season) – that was a baseball injury that could have happened to anyone.

    Whatever it is, I think you have to go into 2013 assuming neutral luck for a player, even if he’s had bad luck for the past three or so years.

    That fact is, Jed Lowrie is a switch-hitting shortstop with power hitting in the middle of the Astros lineup. At his best, he’s Brandon Phillips without speed. That’s a top-10 player with the potential for much more.
