  1. The Royals sent Aviles to the minors this year because he was only nine months removed from Tommy John surgery and didn’t quite yet have the arm strength to play the infield. Not because they believe he is behind Getz and Betancourt in the pecking order. They have said this many times. He’ll play.

  2. Well apparently his arm strength is back, right? So why hasn’t he started EVERY game??? Every throw from him I’ve seen has made it to 1st base! (Spring training included)
Something is wrong with management in KC, this is obvious. Aviles SHOULD be playing every day, and for one reason or another he isn’t – yet. Basically what I’m saying is, I don’t trust management in KC and neither should you.

  3. Scott Olsen and Johnny Cueto are on the waiver in my NL-only league. Thinking about dropping Homer for one of them. Thoughts?

  4. I picked up Olsen for the two-start aspect.

  5. Let me just add, if you’re looking for an impact bat off the waiver wire, Mike Aviles is a gift for you. His season two years ago was, if this makes sense, even better than the numbers indicate. He won leagues for guys, esp H2H with his solid consistency.
