  1. I don’t actually play fantasy so I’m not up on the ownership percentages — did Everybody’s Darlin’ Starlin Castro get snapped up as soon as he was promoted, or is he still available in a lot of leagues for people looking for an Asdrubal-ternative?

  2. Jason Donald is worth a flyer in deeper leagues where Everth Cabrera, Alcides Escobar, and Ian Desmond are already gone (all drafted in the case of my league). While I agree that realistic projections should expect Donald to struggle, he has some hidden upside. In his first year at AA Reading, Donald hit .307/.391/.497 in 362 AB’s and cranked out 14 HR’s. This year at AAA, he has managed to go 10-for-12 in stolen base opportunities in 137 AB’s. While he has not displayed consistency in either his power or speed, the potential for tapping into one or the other could be a small fantasy boon. His best chance is probably in speed since the Indians are sorely lacking in offensive output and they will be looking for someone to replace Asdrubal Cabrera at the leadoff spot (both reasons to encourage Donald to run more). With Cabrera out for an extended period of time and Luis Valbuena losing badly to Mr. Mendoza, Donald should see a healthy dose of at-bats to try and prove his fantasy worth.
