Daily Fantasy Strategy — May 13 — For Draftstreet

Well, I had some pretty good luck this weekend with some of the lineup choices I recommended. It was about time. It felt like it had been forever since I really had things fall the way I’d hoped.

I’m sorry if that comes off as arrogant. I’ve honestly just been so busy at work that I didn’t have the time to look up any cool facts or research any players somewhat intensively, so it seemed like a good time to toot my own horn a little bit. It may be a little bit before I feel confident enough to do it again, so feel free to let me know the next time I whiff badly in order to bring me down a peg.

It’s kind of Ace day, but fortunately there are still some good match-ups. There are a few questionable forecasts, but only two should really come into play, thanks to retractable roofs (be neat if every team had one, but oh well). The Detroit-Baltimore tilt might be delayed a little bit, but it shouldn’t be postponed. Ditto for the San Diego-Cincinnati game. The latter might have a greater chance of being postponed, though. The Phillies and Dodgers are playing in Philadelphia, which has a 30% of rain. So, they might see some precipitation, but it shouldn’t threaten the game’s completion.

Zack Wheeler and Vidal Nuno are squaring off in the Bronx. Any game in Yankee Stadium can get out of hand in a hurry, so there are multiple options there. Scott Carroll isn’t very imposing. Oakland’s lineup is. Marco Estrada is on the bump tonight. As usual, he’ll likely give up a bomb; choose wisely (Pedro Alvarez is my choice). And finally, Dallas Keuchel has been good this year. I actually like him a little today, although he makes me a little nervous considering how good Texas’ offense has been versus left handed pitching.

I love the Athletics’ offense. I like them even more versus Carroll.

The Rays’ offense has been pretty good lately, but I love Kuma’s value here.

Last but not least, Jose Fernandez is hurt. The news of Fernandez’s injury, which will likely require season ending surgery, is a reminder that our lives are probably pointless. One day the sun will engulf the Earth, and we’ll all be dead. On the bright side, Matt Harvey and Jose Fernandez won’t be able to damage their UCLs then.

It’ll be a little while before I forgive baseball, or the human body for not being designed specifically for throwing baseballs. So until then I’ll be watching this and this on an endless loop. ‘Til next time.
