Memorial Day is behind us. Hopefully your long weekend treated you well. Fortunately there was a full schedule yesterday; today, the same. Brandon Moss kept on raking yesterday. As did Derek Norris, who has been the best hitting back stop by quite a margin. The Athletics are fantastic, in case you were wondering what my point was. I will continue to keep gushing about them.
Phil Hughes will look to continue his ways today. He’ll have to do against a Texas team that just lost Prince Fielder. Matt Garza is on the bump today as well, and 2014 hasn’t been very kind to him. Unfortunately his iffy numbers have affected a few of my fantasy teams, but that’s not of your concern. What is of your concern, however, is just how bad he’s looked at times. Spoiler: very bad. Finally, Jon Lester will face an Atlanta Braves’ offense that has demolished left handed pitching. Most left-handed pitchers aren’t Jon Lester, though, so that should be fun.
The Daily Five
Elias’ curveball is a beauty, but I’m drawn towards the Angels today. Trout and Pujols don’t require much of an introduction. Howie Kendrick has quietly putting together a phenomenal season.
David Ortiz – $5,627
I’ve never seen Ortiz this cheap. That’s all I need to know. Monitor lineups, though, because he might sit out thanks to the DH not being in play.
Tim Hudson – $14,976
Hudson’s 2014 has been very fun to watch. I like his chances to keep it going today versus Chicago.
