FanGraphs ottoneu Experts League Draft Results

We held what might perhaps be the first keeper auction experts league on the 31st. The results were epic.

At least, they felt that way after so many adult sodas, so many auctions.
So many broken dreams.

The ringer, a three-time ottoneu champion.
Has values on that bench, but is it enough all over?

Intriguing youth, and a thin outfield.

Prospect dude ends up with a ton of one-dollar prospects.
A couple of those guys might end up killing us next year.

Fascinating to see this. It’s really interesting to me how cheaply many prospects went for $5 or under. If I had to pick a team for this year, I’d probably go with Jack Moore’s. But for the next 2-3 years, Chad’s looks terrifying.

    Thanks for sharing.

  2. Daniel says:

Yeah, hope to see lots on this over the year. The most surprising thing I thought was seeing how much lower top pitching went for as opposed to top hitting. I think that’s the way it should be (what with the amount of pitching depth) but I’d say it’s unusual to see it actually happen. Certainly didn’t happen in the Ottoneu league I’m in. Halladay for $43? Yes please.

My money would be on the Rotowire guys, although I’d take Quintong’s roster too.

  4. Kyle says:

I wish that I could get these top end prospects for that cheap. They were SO overvalued in my league I stayed out of the way. (Ackley $12,Teheran $9,etc.).
(Also, it looks like the comments are messed up, at least on my browser)

    • CajoleJuice says:

My league (a points league) ended up somewhere in the middle. I loaded up on prospects an insane amount, though, to the detriment of my team presently. At least Belt has started the year with the Giants.

      Montero $10
      Belt $9
      Harper $8
      Teheran $5
      Trout $5
      Hosmer $5
      Machado $2
      Banuelos $2

      All on my team.

  5. Kris says:

You couldn’t even bring yourself to actually link to the websites? POOR FORM!

Anyways, Freeman/Davis/Belt are three guys that I’ve been watching and I think this may be the first time that I’ve seen Belt cost the most cash-dollarz.

As you can see from the comments, working with wordpress and tables isn’t always easy.

I used to have a little program that would strip all the garbage out of the excel or open office tables but I haven’t the slightest clue what it was called or what it has went. Even using that little [W] to post the tables leaves them all b0rked.

        Stupid tables.

  6. Fazeorange says:

Would love to see each of these team owners on Twitter this year commenting on their Otto rosters.

Hey Juice, no worries: in our Otto points league all those prospects you listed went for about $5 more each than what you’ve shown. Trout went for $18 so he looks like a “steal” at just $5 on Chad’s team. I just traded for Belt in our league for $11 and everyone thought it was a great deal. Outside of prospects, these expert prices look eerily similar to what we saw in our our Otto league, and we may have been the first league to draft.

    Hi Eno:

The somewhat more prestigious XFL is currently in its eighth season. It is a mixed keeper league with an auction format. Finding it was easy using the vast searching capacity of the Internets.

You can look at the league here.
