Fair enough. If you’ve got charts showing he avged 89 I’ve got nothing to say otherwise besides my memory; and with my memory, I’ll trust those charts.

The 89 mph was an average velocity… He touched 91-92 mph, but also pitched at 87-88 with the fastball.

He threw harder than that during his call up last year. Was throwing 91-92.
Mound presence was lacking, he just lost confidence once he started to get hit hard. Was better out of the pen very late in the season. Just needs to focus on making first pitch strikes and then using the curve once ahead. If he falls behind he is quite hittable.

89 mph? Wow. Wasn’t he the minor league leader in strikeouts either last year or the year prior? It seems odd that he would follow the likes of Francisco Liriano and Yovanni Gallardo without a power fastball to set everything else up.
