He's going to be useful in that huge outfield in Oakland. Some of the "extras" in the organization could be appealing trade pieces, throw in some of their pitching depth, and maybe they turn it into a young shortstop or third baseman. Beane needs to take the next step and build an actual team. Their teams are constructed more like the island of misfit toys, than a team where the players skills complement each other.
