Maybe I am crazy but I could see a 15-30 season from stubbs, maybe even close to 20-30 if he gets the ABs. I know that last year is a small sample size but even if you give him those numbers in twice as many ABs, it’s still a fair number of HRs and steals for next to nothing in terms of what it will cost to draft him in fantasy leagues.

I think I beat you as the fan. Before last year I saw a 25/40 310/400/550 peak season. I haven’t budged from that.

I may be one of the bigger Dexter Fowler fans around. I just love his potential as an Andrew McCutchen with less power. One note about his strikeout rate: He improved a lot as the season went along. A good chunk of that K% was done upon his initial call-up. By September he had settled in and his K rate improved.

Also a fan of Stubbs as a cheap source of steals.

Stubbs also has power potential; I asked Kevin Goldstein this question during his last chat:

“Jeff (Pittsburgh): Is the power that Drew Stubbs showed in his brief MLB stint legitimate?

Kevin Goldstein: If not, it’s awfully damn close. I could see him doing 15-20 home runs annually, maybe even a bit more.”

My ‘expectations’ for Rasmus are very simple … “Become Andy Van Slyke”.

All he really has to do is strike out a little less, walk a little more, and lose the “Corey Patterson” aspect of his plate approach (i.e., thinks he’s a 30 HR guy) … and become really funny. We can do without the hilarious one-liners, but we’d LOVE to see the OBP go up.

By ‘expectations’, I do not necessarily mean my “projections”, although I don;t see any reason why Rasmus and Van Slyke couldn’t have comparable careers, preferably without leaving StL for PIT.
