Yeah as a Sox fan I am worried by Ortiz. Especially considering that he is a “Latin 34″. That said I wouldn’t hesitate to take him where he is currently being drafted(around the 13th-15th round). He still had 28 HRs and 100 RBIs and thats what most people look for in fantasy ball.

Ortiz has a slightly higher batting average and a slightly lower K% than your typical ‘old people skills’ guy, so it’s possible that it’s not a great comparison. I would say, however, that it’s pretty apt, and he’s 34 now. 34-36 year olds with old people skills in James’ study were 26% less effective than similarly aged players with young skills. I’d be worried about Ortiz.
