I have been looking at old scouting reports and I would say he compares well to Paul O’Neill. He just needs to go to a larger market.

Grieve never recovered after he had surgery to remedy thoracic outlet syndrome, if I recall correctly.

I never understood why Grieve was out so early either. I think it had to do with the pressure of his family name. His dad was well known. I would not compare the two. Grive played for an expansion TB and was expected to be the franchise player. Hermida just needs a change of scenery. I wish the Braves would sign him.

Why was Ben Grieve out of baseball at age 26? .269/.367/442 isn’t great, but it’s definitely useful.

Hermida seems to be doing a good job of drawing walks in the early going. 12 already. He had 48 all last year.
