A .724 ops in the minors doesn't seem to be a big deal. Does he play stellar defense? He'll have average to below average batting average and power. His walk rate may allow him to be average at best at 3B at the major league level. I must be missing something because I don't see what's so special about him. Granted Clevelands 3B may be a significant hole for them but even still. Ps I'm on my phone so I can't look up Hodges stats easily so forgive me if I miss something significant and for using ops So what’s the big deal about Wes Hodges. He seems to be preferred by the pitchers to Johjima, but he's a sieve for passed balls and wild pitches, and he's not very good at throwing runners out. He's failed to block the plate on close plays on several occasions. I sincerely hope the organization's unfortunate infatuation with Johnson, combined with Johjima's unfortunate contract, don't block Moore, but I'm not optimistic.
