prices slider has always been overrated… i havent seen anything near a john smoltz slider from him… not even close..

I’ll bet its simply a case of rookie nerves and trying too hard. Lost the feel for the pitch, which will happen when you grip the ball too tight. He’ll be fine, just needs experience and the confidence that comes with it.

Interesting, I saw his slider run value the other day and it looked alarming. Still a pretty big time talent going forward but expectations might have to be tempered a bit after this season’s “growing” pains.
