I guess Batista and Walker are technically in the mix. I was under the impression that Batista would probably fill more of a “long man” role in the bullpen.

The big thing to look out for, from a fantasy perspective, is that the M’s go to a closer-by-committee situation. With no clear relief ace, the M’s could go with a more situational approach.

[Granted, he isn’t very good…]

It’s kinda tough to earn saves when you can’t get anybody out, as evidenced by his 6.23 FIP last year…

I would add Tyler Walker into the mix as well since he has a fastball (92.3) and “closer experience” (34 sv) even if the experience wasn’t too pleasing. He was also given a guaranteed deal.

Good stuff, David… Why no mention of Miguel Batista? Seattle has more than enough arms to fill out a rotation, plus he is the only guy with seemingly any experience; 31 saves a few years back. Granted, he isn’t very good… but still, doesn’t experience take precedence here?
