I'd think that Craig Kimbrel and Kris Medlen would be the backup late inning options if Wagner were to get hurt. And they're both perfectly suitable for that role. Honestly, looking at the contract structure with vesting option, I could see a role where the Braves' objective is to have Kimbrel instilled as a co-closer with Wagner as the season progresses, but didn't want to have him as the primary bullpen fireman when the season started.
