Ozzie's weird, he's like the CBB couch who could never stick it in the NBA, but could get by yelling at freshmen year in and year out at a small school on the college level until they produced out of fear. First name that comes to mind: Tim Floyd. But obviously there were others (and then of course the guys who never tested the NBA waters to begin with). Ozzie has (had?) one thing going for him, and that's the 2005 world series. But the grace period can't last much longer, can it?
Their playoff run in '05 was impressive. His funny tough-guy gimmick was cute for awhile too. That aside, if Kenny Williams can't bring in a legitimate manager, he can buy Europe with his new pocketbook and it won't help that team win. Too much talent wasting away in that dugout. Ozzie's in space...

Letting Ozzie dictate your personnel moves is a recipe for disaster. Instead of moving productive players for pennies on the dollar, maybe you should fire the crappy manager who doesn't know how to use them. If I was forced to play out of position all year, saw my numbers drop because of a hideous dose of bad luck and then was benched for Dewayne-freaking-Wise, I'd pout too.

another side note
supposedly, kenny williams was asked to trade swish by ozzie because he was pouting when he was benched and all of his antics pissed all of the veterans off. not the first time that happened, see javier vazquez, brandon mccarthy, toby hall and brian anderson. i still like swisher and wish kenny got more in return but when ozzie and the vets dont like someone i will yeild to our awful announcer, "he gone!"

Going unmentioned are Swisher's surprising home/road splits ...

home - .226/.382/.394
road - .268/.361/.585

Given the "friendly" confines of Yankee Stadium in 2009, would have thought the numbers above would have been reversed.

"The Yankees have $441 million in commitments"

Austria - 414,828 (millions of USD)

Sorry but your math is off by a factor of 1000.

It is higher than Dominica's 364 million though.

If I wasn't clear: ditto for Austria. You could have gone with Micronesia and been correct.
