You heard it hear first. Matt Holliday will be an Athletic for the remainder of his career. Cisco Field is supposed to be the most intimate setting in baseball which means that it will be a place for sluggers to hit HR and so after 2009, Holliday will recieve a monster 6 year deal from Mr Beane and will put up monster numbers and never want to leave Oakland. Mr Beane is quite sly.

Holliday can hit in any ballpark that he chooses. But why choose to hit in any ballpark when you dont have to. If he wanted to he could have easily won the MVP but he was on cruise-control. He will prove that he can hit anywhere. He hit a ball clear out of Dodger Stadium according to his blurb in the 2007 Annual Prospectus.

The A's will win the division next year based simply on what I wrote about the demise of Vlad. The Angels will fall apart next year if they do not sign Teixeira. 2008 was the year of the Angels and they choked. I got laughed at in February when I said that the Angels would be the best team in the AL and now im saying that they will lose the division to the A's and the A's haven't even finished signing players. I also predict that they will sign Holliday as the cornerstone of the team so that they have a championship caliber team when Cisco Field opens in Fremont in 2012. That stadium is going to be one of the most amazing parks in baseball because of the intimacy. It will be a 21st century Fenway/Wrigley. Theres going to be midrise condo's overlooking the outfield and basically an upscale midrise neighborhood incorporated into the ballpark. This is due to the fact that the new owner is a real estate tycoon. The A's future is really looking bright.

or Holliday + Billy's big FA signing + improvement by rookies = playoffs, and the trade works out for both teams (or only the A's).

One more thing: There is a good chance that he will only be in Oakland half a season, after which he'll be traded to a contender (and be in a much better lineup).
