There's a reason it took him until he was 29 to get a regular gig, and the Pads have Gwynn Jr coming up behind him. He just seems attainable to me, maybe for a single-A arm kind of deal. He'll look foolish if he spends what little farm he has on an Aubrey Huff or Nick Johnson and then Delgado comes back and he has a really expensive bench player that cost him a real prospect. All I'm inferring is that the Mets will be after larger fish than finding a platoon partner for Jeremy Reed. Omar Minaya is holding on for dear life this year.
