My auction tends to get crazy. High and lows are so common with not much of a middle ground. Would you think it worth it to add $$ paid for each player in 2012 and 2013 to the spreadsheet, and my predicted value for 2014? No pre-formed auction values will help i dont think.

Yeah, ours is the same way. Studs go over 50, sometimes over 60, and there’s an inordianate amount of $1 players. You can be “smart” and sit out the top 30 players, but you’ll end up with all the best $10 players and wasted cap. It’s been tried over and over, you can’t win without “overpaying” for the best talent. You have to spend it on the surest things, and then win the end game by having $2 for everyone’s $1 bids. Forget worrying about pre-auction values entirely.

I was hoping you guys could cover your approach to taking standard auction values and applying them to odd ball league setups, say 19 teams and $275 draft cap (25 players so $11 per player average). Thanks

Also looking for an outlook on where Cuddyer fits (move back to 2B?), Hawkins vs Brothers, and Dickerson vs the field.

Love the podcast, keep it up.

I’d love to hear you talk about the various projection systems and, specifically, Steamer versus PECOTA at Baseball Prospectus. Have no idea how they stack up. Thanks for the podcast! p

Next podcast request: Alex Gordon. Google: “Alex Gordon retires from leadoff role.” I had trouble posting the link.

Aoki hits leadoff and…”Gordon, according to skipper Ned Yost, will fall into the fifth spot behind Omar Infante, Eric Hosmer and Billy Butler.” Who’s sloted behing Gordon, Moustak-sucks? Ugh.
