Marrero’s glove has always been a problem. If LaRoche isn’t sufficiently recovered from his shoulder problems, I wouldn’t be surprised if the Nats moved Morse back to 1B.
Keep in mind that in LF Morse looks like a fish out of water, but at first he was surprisingly nimble for a big man. Morse has always doubted himself; therefore,
if poor play in the field translates to poor performance at the plate, the Nats would be foolish not to move him back to a position where he’s so much more comfortable. Bottom line: I don’t think the opportunity for Marrero was great to start with.

Dominguez’s stock took a huge hit long before the Fish signed Reyes. I don’t think anybody thinks he can hit enough to justify getting his glove in the lineup any more.

Chris Marrero did not survive the offseason, he tore his hamstring in the Domincan Winter League. He’ll be out until the all-star break, and then probably will go to AAA. I wouldn’t bet on him before September.
