I have two DL slots already occupied as of today, and what really chaps my hide is the fact that the Sox waited until today to put crawford on the DL. Had they put him on the DL a week ago I would have had the roster spot to pick up a replacement instead of wating until today when no one is available.

Why in the world would you not use your DL slots? You’re essentially handicapping yourself, as if you’re league is competitive, I assume they will be taking advantage of the extra roster slots.

Ruthlessness with roster decisions isn’t an absolute necessity in fantasy sports, but it sure does help. I like to think of the players on my team as random number generators with different mean/variance profiles, rather than human beings. It makes it much easier to act rationally and without hesitation on trades, cuts, etc.
