Profile: It wasn't long ago that Carl Crawford was one of baseball's most dynamic and coveted players. His combination of speed and power was virtually unmatched. Fast-forward five short years and he's essentially out of baseball. In his first two seasons with the Dodgers (2013-14), he was still an above-average MLBer, even if he didn't play more than 116 games in either season. In his last two seasons, not only has he played 99 games (total), he has provided negative value to his team. The Dodgers cut ties with Crawford on June 6 and he did not sign with another team for the remainder of 2016. Injuries are the biggest reason for his massive regression, but he has also regressed defensively, doesn't steal bases anymore and didn't adapt his offensive game accordingly. His ISO dropped from a nearly average .138 in 2015 to a putrid .049 in 2016. He didn't homer in 87 plate appearances and had just three extra base hits. One could say he didn't get enough playing time to improve on those numbers, but he was a free agent in mid-June and was not signed by another team -- even to a minor-league contract. That is telling. Crawford may very well have played his last game in the majors. (Dustin Nosler)

The Quick Opinion: Crawford hasn't played a lot over the last two season and has become irrelevant in the fantasy baseball world. There isn't much reason to believe he'll recapture any of his former glory. He doesn't run well, he doesn't hit for enough power and doesn't walk enough (never has) to justify a roster spot.
