Profile: It's tough to believe the Rodriguez is only 34 years old. A mere 14 years after taking the MLB playoffs by storm, K-Rod once again returned solid closer value to fantasy owners, likely at his usual, conservative price. His 44 saves marked a return a couple seasons ago and his 3.24 ERA wasn't too shabby either. There were a couple negative trends, however, with the closer's K-BB% dropping precipitously from over 20% the three previous years to 13% in 2016. His sub-90 mph fastball lost yet another half mile per hour although his swinging strike rate (albeit down a tad) was still a healthy 12%. Perhaps he really is ready to hit the wall, but it's tough to see him providing negative value next year. While the seasons of pure dominance could be fading for a righty in his mid-30's, he should still return value -- it just depends on the price. (Colin Zarzycki)

The Quick Opinion: Rodriguez once again returned solid value in roto leagues, but tumbling peripherals beg the question as to whether it was an off year or something more. He will likely be a bit less of a value pick headed into 2017, though his price remains fair.
