Profile: When we describe somebody as a 20/20 hitter (i.e. 20 home runs and 20 stolen bases), we're usually complementing their ability at the plate. Galvis certainly deserves kudos for hitting 20 home runs and stealing 17 bases despite posting one of the weakest near-20/20 seasons I've ever seen. He's a low-average, low-on-base-percentage hitter with below-average raw power. He squeaked to 20 home runs via a high pulled-contact rate and a fluky 12.5% home run per fly ball ratio. Even when regression sets in next season, Galvis is still useful to real teams. He's a double-plus defender at shortstop, and he can slide into a super utility role if/when J.P. Crawford is ready to matriculate. That'll probably either happen in mid-2017 or early 2018. Until then Galvis owns shortstop in Philadelphia and can contribute some cheap power and speed. (Brad Johnson)

The Quick Opinion: Of all the players to hit 20 home runs during last season's power brigade, Galvis may have been the most surprising. Those with long memories may recall his 2012 PED suspension. That's not relevant here. It's just... funny.
