  1. That last pitch actually looks pretty good! Mike McCoy for closer!

  4. Chairman Cistulli,

You’re like a kid in a candy store with the GIFs. Which is fun. But it is getting a bit much.

    Sincerely,

    Your Loyal Followers.

  6. Yirmiyah,

Your ego is truly inflated if you think you speak for all of us. I, for one, appreciate the gifs, and I don’t give a damn how butthurt you are over this article. Sit down, shut up, and go somewhere else to piss and moan about everything since complaining about everything is the prototype of an “internet cool guy”. OK Mr. Too Cool For School, don’t you ever pretend to speak for me or anyone else ever again. I really hope the author doesn’t listen to your complete garbage, because I learned a lot about McCoy’s pitching style changing from overhand to sidearm, confusing the batters into swinging through. But that’s past your thick head, because you wear your sunglasses at night. Give me a break. Get in your internet pissing matches to see who can hate something the most elsewhere. Your a-hole comments have no place here.

    “Sincerely,”
L, and only L, because I speak for myself.

  8. Carson, this is awesome! Please keep the gifs coming! And I have to agree that that last pitch seems like a pretty good breaking ball!

  10. Mister Cistulli,

Please consider writing more and posting less gifs, videos, and links. For many of us this web site is at its best when you combine baseball and literary analysis, share writing that is idiomatic to yourself, rather than these enjoyable but overly represented pieces.

    Sincerely,

    A Loyal Follower.

  11. Loving these GIFs. All I request is more frames/second so that they are more fluid.

  12. It’s almost like he’s throwing a wiffle-ball. I love the GIFs.

  13. FYI, I was only speaking for myself and the person sitting next to me.

  14. Yirmiyahu’s good people. He’s a part of this community, for sure, and makes it more fun to write here.

That doesn’t mean I’m going to listen to him, of course (GIFs rulez!), but I think he was just using the house prose style, as opposed to really trying to speak for everyone.

We’re all effing amigos here, is my point. Let’s all just be effing amigos.

  15. Two points on that:

    1. I barely have any idea what I’m doing.

    2. I try to make sure the file size doesn’t get crazy high.

    3. But mostly, I have no idea what I’m doing.

  19. So what you’re telling me is that Mike McCoy is already a better pitcher than Kyle Drabek???

    Comment by tenags — June 13, 2011 @ 10:43 am

  20. I saw the game and it was actually the most relaxed pitching style ive ever seen in the majors. He was slingin’ it from three quarters. his fastball reached 85, but he had a good breaking ball seemed almost like a knuckle because the hitters never figured out where it was going

    Comment by scott — June 14, 2011 @ 5:47 am

  21. these pitches actually have good late movement on them-appear to be in zone then tail away–hes doing something to the ball bewsides just throwing slow-or these pitches would be in the next zip code.
