  1. I forgot to mention: one of the reasons it is far less complex than OOTP is that contacts and rosters are mad simple by comparison. No stratified pay rates, no playoff rosters or 40-man rosters, etc. To a degree though, this simplicity is a bit freeing, but I think I’d rather the option of it than have to pay without it.

  3. Do you ever play in online Mogul sim leagues? This is where the real fun is, IMO. Though I’ve definitely spent a ton of time simming game to game in Mogul, it’s kind of lost its challenge. It’s still way too easy to just trade for an amazing team instantly if you really want to.

  4. Wow…I haven’t played Baseball Mogul since 2002 or 2003 I think. I was addicted to this game back then.

I really wish there were a great mobile baseball sim. Not home run contests or arcade games, something like Baseball Mogul but that I could play on my phone or tablet when I have a few minutes.

  6. Thanks Paul! Looks like it’s iPhone only at the moment, but they have plans for an Android version sometime this year.

  7. I’ve been playing for several editions now. Just when you think you’ve grown tired of the relative lack of features and customization, there you are, starting another save file.

  8. Ha, I was actually just playing Baseball Mogul 2007 yesterday. I think it might be time for me to move onto a newer version or OOTP now though.

  9. Does Baseball Mogul have real-world minor league rosters? That’s something that I really liked about OOTP when I played it in the past.

  10. Yes. They are — to my knowledge — just about as accurate as OOTP, though you are not required to have full minor league rosters and the minor league systems in general are a bit more basic.
